Colour and Clay Studio is located in North Kensington, Blechynden Street Studios ACAVA, Studio 13, 54 Blechynden Street, London W10 6RJ (nearest tube station Latimer Road).

The Potter's Wheel Beginner Course is designed for those who attended one of our sessions as well as to those who would like to practice and develop throwing skills. To make sure each participant gets tailored and one-to-one tutoring this course runs only with 4 students.

During the 8 weeks course you will learn and have plenty of  time to practice throwing on the potter's wheel.  The first class will focus on throwing basic cylinder shapes, then move to bowls, vessels or pots during the second session. Later you will learn to throw more complex shapes like bowls, vessels, mugs jugs and cups. The course also covers trimming and glazing, adding handles and creating a lidded jar.  

By the end of the course you will produce approximately 10 finished pieces.

All materials, glazing and firing is included in the price.

Advance booking is recommended.

Terms and Conditions:

*Use our disinfecting station as often as needed.
*We clean and disinfect surfaces, door handles and utensils frequently and make sure our studio is Covid19 Safe.

Cancelations and refund

*This class is subject to a fixed number of attendees. The class must have 4 students in order for it to go ahead.
*Cancel no later than seven calendar days before your booked workshop for a full refund. Late cancellations are subject to full fee payable.
*To reschedule, contact us no later than seven (7) calendar days before your booked session.
*Reschedule of a class is possible only once and a refund is not applicable after the class has been rescheduled. Should you not be able to attend your session, full fee is payable.
*Failing to attend your booked course will be subject to full fees charged.
*Kindly note, bookings made within 3 days before the start of your class cannot be rescheduled or refunded.

Our Advice

*Please note: long finger nails would stop you from enjoying your time on the wheel as this involves working with the finger tips.
*You may want to wear clothes you don't mind getting messy, however, touch free plastic, single use aprons will be provided and clay comes out of clothes.
*Collect your works no later than 14 days after you have been notified that your pieces have been fired, otherwise we will sadly have to dispose of them.
